Literature Extensions and Responses
These are wall stories, murals, displays, bulletin boards, story journals, and other literature extensions and responses we've created.  We use as many different representations and art media as we can so the kids get lots of exposure to different ways of responding.  Not only do extensions allow us to dig deeper into literature making it more personal and meaningful, but our school family grows stronger by working together to create something we use in our learning.

We Are All Alike, We Are All Different
After reading this book we created self portraits with crayons and water colors.  Then we did a shared writing to brainstorm our likes and differences.  We put our creations up on our big bulletin board.  They'll go into a class book next...
