Family Projects &
Take Home Bags

One of the ways our school family connects with our home families is through take home bags and monthly projects.  Some of the bags circulate all year round; others are monthly.  Each bag and project is designed so that even the busiest family can participate.  A journal is enclosed in each bag and when the bag has visited every family, the journal goes into a book basket, "Books By Our Home Families".  This will be the first year that I've had a bag for every month-I hope it works out!  Some ideas for the bags are "borrowed and adapted" or "borrowed straight", so I've tried to give credit where credit is due!  Please email me if I've missed anyone!  Many of the ideas were borrowed or inspired from Sarah Simpson-Thank You Sunshine!

I use the canvas craft bags for the Year Round Bags-I use an iron-on transfer created on the computer for the front of the bag.  The monthly bags are gift bags/plastic beach bags from the dollar store-if one needs patching up, we use a little packing tape or I just pick up a new one!

Take Home Bag Tracker
(Being "organizationally challenged" I need all the help I can get!  Use this to track your bags-
fill in the side columns with your children's names.  Fill in the top column with the bags you use.
Just add a check or date when the child takes a particular bag home)
