About Mrs. Taylor...
My
name is Tiffany Taylor and I am an Early Childhood Resource
Teacher/Kindergarten Coordinator with Orange County Public Schools in
Orlando, Florida. I taught almost 12 years in Kindergarten
before moving to Orlando Tech last year to work with adults. This
year the opportunity came to join the OCPS Early Childhood Department-what
a blessing! When I first started teaching, OCPS had a
fabulous Early Childhood Team with several resource teachers that visited
classrooms and provided professional development. The ladies on this
team and a core group of dedicated teachers I met through them ignited my
passion for teaching and helped me find the true joy and magic in being
with the little ones. They are directly responsible for giving me
the courage and models to teach the way I knew was best for young
children, no matter what the legislators or societal/political environment
demanded. The team was disbanded several years back but we are
working to bring back some of the wonderful programs of support they
provided for so many.

I graduated from the
University of Central Florida (Go Knights!) with a bachelor of science
degree in Elementary Education. I am also certified in Primary
Education. I am a member of NAEYC, SECA, CFAEYC (where I serve as
President), ESR (Educators for Social Responsibility), the Orange
County Reading Council, the Florida Reading Association and the
International Reading Association. I am also co-founder and partner
with my dear friend and colleague,
Caren Abbott, in a company consulting on various
early childhood topics (Birth through 7 years) including developmentally
appropriate practices, advocacy, and my favorite topic,
Dr. Becky Bailey's Conscious Discipline.
Caring Connections became official on
January 1, 2005. Thank you to everyone who made our first year a
great success! It is a real blessing to be able to travel and share
with so many dedicated and giving educators things that we are so
passionate about. It's time that we teachers become empowered to
fight for what we know is right for our children and our profession.

I am married 5 fabulous years to a wonderful and very patient
husband, Mike-his mom
is a teacher so he had some idea of what he was getting into! We
have three cats, Frank, Scout, and Boo Radley, along with lots of squirrels and birds and other forest critters
that seem to visit our home daily. I am truly proud to be part of the Early
Childhood field-I know what we do directly impacts the future of our children
and our world.
I am
fortunate to have many friends, colleagues, and mentors in the early childhood
community, some I haven't even met! Through workshops I attend,
websites I surf, and people I meet, I see educators and advocates that make their career
their passion and their life. What a cool thing to be a part
of... I hope you enjoy this website, it was inspired from the many I surfed
created by wonderful educators with so much to share...
I wish you well!
